Contrasts. We have outlined the following programme for your pleasure.
Day 1 – Nairobi Serena Hotel / Intercontinental / Grand Regency: You will be met upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and transferred to your hotel where you are booked in on bed and breakfast basis.
Day 2 - Sarova Lion Hill Lodge / Lake Nakuru Lodge / Mbweha Camp: After breakfast, drive towards Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru National park arriving in time for lunch. Enjoy an afternoon game drive in the park that also takes you to the shore of the lake, famous for its millions of flamingoes that form a pink hue across the lake. The park is also a rhino sanctuary for black and white rhinos. You might even get a chance to spot some leopards. Dinner and overnight.
Day 3 - Mara Sarova / Serena / Simba / Sopa: Depart after breakfast and drive towards the Maasai Mara Game Reserve. Arrive at the lodge in Mara where you are booked in on full board basis. Check-in and have your lunch. Go for an afternoon game drive. Return to camp, relax, dine and enjoy the atmosphere. Overnight.
Maasai Mara is a world famous game reserve, which is the northern extension of the Serengeti. This amazing reserve hosts a huge variety of plains game and the big five - lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard and rhino. Drive off on the beaten tracks and through amazing landscape of flora, fauna and sheer African wilderness. The Mara is Africa's heartbeat.
Day 4 – Mara Sarova / Serena / Simba / Sopa: You have a head start on your day for your early morning game drive. This is your chance to witness animals as they emerge from their resting places with the sunrise. You return to your camp for breakfast. Enjoy the morning at leisure. After lunch, go back for your afternoon game drive and catch the animals in a different light. The African backdrop will mesmerize you and take your breath away with its colorful sunset and vast rolling grasslands and serenity. Return to the camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 5 – Nairobi Serena Hotel / Intercontinental / Grand Regency Hotel: Depart after breakfast and return to Nairobi. You will check in at your hotel where you are booked in on bed and breakfast basis.
Day 6 – Ngorongoro Serena or Sopa Lodge: After breakfast, you will be transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to catch your flight to Kilimanjaro Airport. You will be met upon arrival and taken to Ngorongoro via Arusha, where you will stop for lunch. After lunch, continue your journey to the famous Ngorongoro National Park with a game drive en route. Arrive at at your Lodge early evening where you are booked in on full board basis. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 7 - Ngorongoro Serena or Sopa Lodge: After breakfast, you will meet your driver and descend into the crater for a half day’s game viewing, either in the morning or in the afternoon. This is your chance to capture brilliant photographs of this photogenic paradise. You will enjoy a picnic lunch at a site by the Crater Lake teeming with hippos. Return to the lodge. Dinner and overnight.
The focal point area is the 20KM wide volcanic crater with an incredible 600 metres drop to the floor that is home to a wide variety of animals and birds. The spectacular view from the rim of the crater is breath-taking. The conservation area is also a pioneering experiment of co-existence of mankind and wildlife in a natural setting.
Day 8 – Serengeti Serena or Sopa Lodge: After breakfast, depart Ngorongoro and drive to Serengeti National park, where you will arrive in time for lunch at your lodge. Visit the famous Ol duvai gorge and then go for an afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 9 - Serengeti Serena or Sopa Lodge: Full days in the park with both morning and afternoon game drives. The Serengeti is one of the most unique wilderness areas of the world, fantastic in its natural beauty and scientific value. The park is a vast expanse of land with large concentration of plain animals. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 10 - Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge: After breakfast, depart
Serengeti and drive towards Lake Manyara National park with en route game drive. Arrive at Lake Manyara Serena in time for lunch. Go for an afternoon game drive, and then return to the lodge. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 11 – Nairobi Serena Hotel / Intercontinental / Grand Regency: After breakfast, you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro Airport to catch your flight back to Nairobi. You will be met upon arrival and transferred to your hotel in Nairobi where you are booked in on bed and breakfast basis.
Day 12 - After breakfast, you will be transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to catch your flight back home. If your flight is in the evening, you may do some day excursions whilst you are in Nairobi, or just spend the day at your pace visiting downtown Nairobi.
